Product Description

Coreopsis verticillata 'Moonbeam'
Common name: threadleaf Coreopsis.
Zones 4 to 9 may be 3 to 9.
Full sun.
Plants reach 18 to 24 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide.
Growth rate: Moderate, Easy to grow. C. 'Moonbeam' is an excellent performer with bright lemon-yellow flowers produced in profusion from early through late summer. The airy clumps of fine, needle-like foliage on upright stems add a nice fine texture element to the landscape.

Coreopsis grows in dry to medium moisture, most soil conditions with good drainage, including sandy or rocky. It is tolerant of humidity, heat and drought. Plants may be cut back hard in summer if foliage sprawls or becomes unkempt. A sterile cultivar, 'Moonbeam' spreads somewhat aggressively in the garden by rhizomes. The verticillata species is particularly long-lived, has a longer flowering time, and demonstrates better drought tolerance than others in the genus.
