Zone 4 to 9, maybe 3 to 10,
Sun to full shade, at least 3 to 4 hours of sun for best foliage color .
Mature foliage height 3 to 4 inch; dwarf habit spreading groundcover.
Chocolate with burgundy highlights, shiny, small, rounded leaves form dense, carpet-like, low-growing mat. Depending on the amount of sunlight, leaves are a mix of rich chocolate-purple and green (deeper color in more sun). Three (3) inch spikes of blue-violet, 4-lobed, flat flowers bloom from mid to late spring, above the low, spreading foliage. Stunning effect when planted en masse.

Beautiful and bushy
My plants arrived in great shape. They were full pots and not scraggly plants. The packaging was designed to keep them in good condition for transit in a hot Missouri summer. Would definitely buy again.

Absolutely wonderful and very healthy
I couldn't have asked for anything better they arrived in fantastic condition however I would have preferred for them to have come by Federal Express rather than U. P. S. As they come very late and don't bother to ring the bell or anything - just drop them on the porch.

I'm glad I bought these.
Using these chocolate chip ajuga to control erosion under my deck in full shade. Came in great condition and still damp in the soil. The flowers, which had to be pressed down to fit in the shipping box, have come back up nicely. I really like the color. Looking forward to them spreading out.
