Product Description
WALKER'S LOW Nepeta faassenii
a/k/a Catmint and Catnip
Zones 3 to 8. Full Sun or part shade in the south.
Up to 30 inches tall (if staked) and 3 feet wide. Arching upright habit.
The cultivar name is somewhat misleading,
the plant is named for its garden of origin, not its growth habit.
2007 Perennial Plant of the Year.
Soft lavender-blue flowers will start to bloom early summer in the south and mid-summer for northern climates. Blooms for long periods, especially if plants are sheared after bloom. Gray-green, aromatic foliage becomes very fragrant when the stems are broken. Related to true catnip (N. cataria), Nepetalactone is not potent enough in this variety to be a strong attraction for cats, but fragrant enough for potpourri.
Drought tolerant, once established in well drained, average soil. Attracts butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, but not deer or rabbits. Growth rate is considered moderate in northern zones and rapid for the south.

Perfect
I barely amended the soil, but uses some thick wood chips to help keep moist. Three years later my nepeta have filled in. I planted 16" on center and they now are a big wave of catmint. Thank you for the discount whole sale starters. They do better than the 6quart from the nursery .

Extremely happy
These plants arrived sooner than I’d hoped. Well packaged in a sturdy box. Very healthy and went into the ground 48hrs later. Already putting out new growth. I would 100% buy from this grower again.
