Damp Soil Tolerant

Due to shade areas, compacted clay soil, drainage or along waterways some areas remain wet or damp. When planting in soggy areas chose plants that are tolerant of such conditions, but remember - most plants, even those preferring a consistently moist soil, perform best with good drainage.

  • Heuchera 'Caramel' is a perennial favorite in southern gardens due to its amber-peach foliage and toughness in hot and humid regions.  It prefers part to full shade and is hardy from zones 4-9.
