Verbena x. 'Homestead' Pink
Zones 7 to 10, Tender perennial or annual in zone 6 or less.
Sun
Height of 6 to 12 inches and may spread to 36 inches, trailing habit.
Bright pink 3-inch long bloom clusters flower profusely from late spring to the frost. Semi-evergreen, deep green, scalloped, coarse-textured foliage with a vigorous growth and trailing habit.
Heat tolerate plant that is easy to grow in average, medium moist to dry, well-drained soils. In northern zones, drier, well-drained conditions will improve its ability to survive the winter. A light mulch and regular water during summer will improve performance. Performs best in full sun; it does tolerate part shade, particularly in hot summer zones.
Pinch the tips of the branches at planting time to encourage dense branching and a fuller plant. If blooming slows during the summer, trim the whole plant back to about one fourth its size.
Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Excellent in rock gardens, borders, cascading over walls, in containers or hanging baskets, and as a ground cover. Deer resistant.
