Mature size can reach 6 to 12 inches height.
Glossy small dark olive-green one inch leaves, crimped and ruffled along the edges. Foliage turns bronze-red in colder winter zones. Native to most of Europe and southwest Asia, it is an evergreen climbing plant, actually classified as a high climbing shrub.
Similar to'English' 'with a moderate growth habit. Tolerates a wide range of soils, but prefers rich loams. Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in part shade to full shade. Plants should be set about one to two inches deeper than the upper layer of the potting medium, for additional root development. Ivies grow best on sites where the soil is aerated and well drained. Ivy is not tolerant of extreme drought or extended wet soil conditions.
In the right conditions, ivy can be a vigorous grower. Ivies are used in window boxes, urns and other elevated planters for cascading effect, indoors or outside; as ground covers and are trained on walls, fences, posts, trellises and for topiaries. Ivy is a low maintenance alternative to lawns because it is evergreen, relatively pest free, very cold hardy and fast-growing groundcover that requires little care once established. Infrequent foot traffic is tolerated
