SOLD OUT for 2010 Gaillardia 'Goblin' a/k/a Blanket Flower
Zones 3 to 9. Part Sun to Full Sun. Mature height is 8 to 10 inches, 10 to 12 inches wide.
Daisy-like 3 inch blooms of burgundy-red petals with sunny yellow tips surround the reddish-brown, button-like center. Deadhead occasionally helps produce flowers all summer until first frost.
Prefers loose, well-drained soils, tolerant of poor conditions, including heat, drought, and poor soil. Use in rock gardens, containers, cut flowers, planted in mass and for a border. Deer Resistant and Easy to Grow.
From early summer, butterflies may also blanket the striking three-colored flowers which resemble the colors commonly found in Indian blankets. But, they get their name from how they use to blanket North America prairies with their blooms. This Native Cultivar can still be found in fields, prairies and into the Rockies. Completely carefree, long-lived perennial.
*Sold as a Flat of eighteen (18) plants in four (4) inch pots. Each Flat counts as one item when calculating shipping cost.
