Fire red flowers with a crimson eye have the spicy scent of cloves. These bright flowers shine over thick, grey-green, evergreen foliage.
Height is 8 inches. Space 8 to 12 inches apart. Vigorous growth rate, for a dianthus. Needs well-drained soil. Roots do not like to stay damp.
Use in rock gardens, scented gardens and for a border. This fragrant member of the carnation family reblooms, flowers most prolific in early summer, plants will rebloom in the fall if spent flowers are removed.
