Full sun in northern zones, but prefers partial to full shade.
Mature size: 6 to 12 inches.
A dwarf, green and white variegated Japanese Carex with beautiful delicate texture, 'Hime Kawasuga' grows well in sun or shade. Prefers moist, well-drained, loamy, sandy or clay soil, and performs great in water gardens. Dense, mound-forming habit, will limit your weeding.
Use this ornamental grass in borders, containers, ground cover, rock gardens and water gardens, or even an aquarium. Plant (8) inches apart for an immediate full, dense look. Maintenance free and deer resistant. Propagate by division in the spring, but do not divide clumps into little divisions, with small root systems.
