Light to moderate shade.
Mature size: 8 to 12 inches height.
Evergreen groundcover with 1/2 inch pink and white star-shaped spring flowers. Abundant red berries in the fall. The dark green leaves are heavily serrated on the edges.
Plant in sandy to clay well-drained soils, though it prefers moist, rich conditions. Spreads by underground runners.
Use as a groundcover under shrubs or trees, as a border plant, or in mass plantings. Grows in the shade even where grass does not grow. Good substitute for Pachysandra in warmer zones. Deer and rabbit resistant,
