Rounded, slightly ruffled, leaves will be yellow in full sun to lime green in shade. Low-growing, creeping ground cover forms a dense, leafy mat only 2 to 4 inches tall. Bountiful, cup-shaped, bright yellow flowers emerge in early summer to fall.Rooting where leaf nodes come in contact with the soil, ‘Aurea’ is easily grown in average, medium to wet, well-drained soil. Intolerant of dry soils, it can sometimes be invasive.
Good plant for shady places, under trees or on a creek bank. Use for covering banks, as a border, around water gardens, or in rustic containers, old stumps, and hanging baskets or walls for cascading effect.
Easily propagated by division. Not available for shipment to MA.
